Late night doctors and early morning Elmos

We had a rough go last night with E. Stone's fever spiking over 101, making a trip to the emergency pedi center necessary. We normally wouldn't run screaming for a fever, but in his discharge papers it said this could indicate infection, so away we ran. If you live in the area and haven't visited Pediatrics After Hours, I highly recommend it - although E. Stone might beg to differ after last night. Everyone there is wonderful, and now that they take appointments, it's a lot easier.

So, our night ended with an antibiotics shot and finger prick, which caused a screaming baby and crying mommy and daddy. It's so hard to see your little one hurt! We have a follow up this morning with our normal pedi to hopefully change E. Stone's antibiotics - for some reason the Amoxil just isn't doing the trick.

The shots E received were laced with Lidocaine, apparently they cause a lot of pain, so we were surprised when he slept from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. without a peep. By 4:30 he was in dire need of more pain medicine and some cuddles, along with an Elmo fest. What would we do without this little red fuzzy guy?

Now that the medicine has kicked in, he seems to be feeling much better. Hopefully he will want some rest before we head out to the doctor. Mommy would like some!

E. Stone may not be feeling his best, but according to his nana sticker, he's 100% perfection!

How scary! We are thinking of you! I hope E doesn't have camp this week - I was thinking he did, for some reason...if so, I don't think that's going to work! Hang in there!
