A Very Merry Christmas

For the past few years, we've included our blog address in our Christmas cards. For those of you new to the blog, great to have you, for those of you who have been reading for a while, this might be a bit redundant so just bear with us!

This year has been full of really unexpected surprises, all of them wonderful! The surprises began late last year when we found out in December that we were expecting! After many years of trying to conceive and turning to adoption, our pregnancy was a bit of a shocker, but a very happy surprise. On April 10, 2008, we were all set to find out the sex of our little bundle, but awoke instead to a major wind storm and a large tree on the back of our house. The tree tore off the roof and fell across Heath's car and the garage, so getting to the doctor looked grim. Our amazing neighbors lent us their car while we waited for a tree crew to bail us out and we found out that we were expecting a boy! It was an exciting day, but only the start of the adventures to come!

Work began on the house in May and from the rubble of the tree emerged an amazing new playroom for our boys. This room has been such a blessing and a true testament to God's perfect plan and timing.

In June, we started working with the state on the process to adopt our second son - Cash Judson Chambers. Cash arrived in July when I was eight-months pregnant. He was a tremendous surprise, but has been the source of amazing joy. His smile is infectious! Cash is with us now on a foster-to-adopt basis, however, we are hopeful that his adoption will become a reality during our next court appearance in late January.

In August, Ethan Stone (who we call E. Stone or just E) became a big brother yet again when Holden Brazell Chambers was born a month after Cash's arrival. Holden has grown like a weed and enjoys watching his older brothers at work. I can only imagine the little plans he is hatching!

E. Stone has grown from a baby into a little boy this year. It's been so much fun to watch him learn new things and explore his world. He loves school and spends his time at home building things, doing puzzles and taking all of the electronics apart to see how they work. He has been a sweetheart to his little brothers, although he typically just works around them and tries to ignore them.

Heath is still hard at work with Travelers Insurance. After some budget rearranging, I became a full-time, stay-at-home mom in July. I'm hoping to get back into the freelancing game in January, but we'll see what I'm up for at that point. Having three boys in diapers keeps us very busy, but we couldn't have more fun with them all!

The boys from left to right - Cash (9-months), E. Stone (2-years), Holden (3-months).

Hello, I was "googling" foster to adopt blogs and came across yours. Our stories are very similar. We just got siblings placed with us two weeks ago (hoping to adopt). It has been a crazy few weeks filled with many emotions but have felt God through it all. Thanks for sharing your journey.
