Summer is officially OVER!

We originally thought that E. Stone would start school on his birthday, but much to our surprise we learned at his teacher meeting that he could start a week early! This was yesterday, he started today. Whew, it was fast!

I hadn't received a school supply list yet, so the kid was totally unprepared. Daddy to the rescue! After visiting four different stores (one twice) daddy emerged victorious late yesterday evening with all needed school supplies AND a super-cool backpack!

E's school hours are 8-11, five days a week. We got there right on time (even a tad early, but who's keeping score?) and E walked right in. He had a great day! Other than frequent trips to the potty, he was well focused and attentive in class. We're so proud!

I did learn that walking to school is the way to go, and I will be avoiding the car pool line at all costs in the future. Crazy, crazy, crazy! We live about a half-mile from the school, so it's great exercise for me and the kids would much rather be in the wagon than in the car. Plus, if you walk, your kids are the first to go in and come out, so I really do think that it's faster, even factoring in the walk time.
E. Stone was a little hesitant to wake up this morning...
but upon hearing that he was headed to school, he perked right up! Here he is ready to walk out the door on the first day!

Way to go, Chambers family! Wow, Heath, 4 trips to the store... that's intense. :) I can't wait to hear fun stories about school days. What a blessing to live so close, too. A great motivator for some exercise and sunshine. Goodness, they grow up fast!

Super cuteness! (Oliver has those same jammies!) What an awesome first day story! So glad it went well... you crack me up about the carpool lane. You'll have to fill me in on the details.
