But I don't eat junk, so I can't use coupons....

When you buy stuff with coupons, and try to shop frugally, you do have to be super creative, but you don't have to eat only junk food!  I think a lot of people have this misconception.  The Internet is my absolute friend when it comes to menu planning and recipes.  One of my favorite new site is VitalJuice.  They have AMAZING recipes, especially when you are dealing with fresh produce and seasonal eating... and we're getting ours from a CSA, so it's always a grab bag.

Some highlights from VitalJuice this week?  No Bake Brownie Bites made out of dates... don't laugh it's like a super yummy protein bar and I swear your kids will eat them by the handful.  Kale Chips... I could eat a bucket of this, but would have never tried it if my neighbors hadn't made me.  Quick Cobb Salad... this will knock your socks off, so much better than restaurant quality!

You do have to sign up to join VitalJuice, but I promise it's worth the minute that takes and the information is totally free.  I haven't found a site that compares when it comes to yummy nutrient rich recipes.

I also recently found a resource for organic coupon location - since a lot of organic food companies are also companies that make gluten free foods, this proves to be a great resource for me, and it's totally free  - .http://organicdeals.blogspot.com/.

What CSA do you use? I've looked for one in Dallas with little success. Also, my mom and I tried a recipe for 'frying' kale leaves and salting them. They turned out ok, but not worth the trouble. So kale chips sound good to me!

Thanks for the website...I'm gonna check it out. I kinda thought this about "the grocery game" shoppers. All of the stuff I buy for the kids, artificial color and preservative free, all natural, no added sugar, no bleached flour, etc....is not usually on sale or have coupons. The coupons are getting more out there though. I think it's a lot about cooking from scratch too. Which I'm not so good at.
