The Lord works in mysterious ways...

It's amazing to me how prayer, bold prayer, brings about change.  In our case, prayers for a child resulted in our three amazing sons, three children who I strongly believe were brought to us by God's will alone.  But, they were brought to us under God's timing, which was a very difficult pill to swallow.

Honestly, my timing would have resulted in a lot different family and a family that I'm sure wouldn't have been anywhere near as wonderful as mine now is.  And perfectly honestly, had I got what I requested from God, "a child," I would never have experienced the amazing gift of adoption twice and the miracle that is the birth of a child.

Heath and I recently had the pleasure of meeting with a family who is interested in fostering/adopting through a kinship placement.  A situation  very similar to what we did with our boys.  I realized in that moment that our walk was for a purpose.  If only to share our experiences with that one family, all of the difficulty, all of the tears, all of the unknown, was worth it.

Being on the outside and getting to see the joy, excitement, anticipation and trepidation that this family was feeling was amazing.  I have to think that's what we looked like.  You could tell that they already loved this child.  They were praying and their heart was growing, already.

God truly does work in mysterious ways, but His ways are so good.  He is so faithful and I am forever grateful to have His hand guiding me.

My children are borrowed and will be returned, they are not my own but a gift from my Father.  Whether for a season or a lifetime, I am honored that God chose me to be their mother.

I wish there was a "like" button. Thanks for sharing. Sometimes it's hard while waiting on our side to remember that we may end up on your side of adoption someday.

Thanks for the reminder. God's timing and plan is always different from ours. Though our journey has been difficult, our children are so worth it. Someday, hopefully we will be "official".
