Freebie Friday - Laundry Soap

We do a lot of laundry around here.  Let me rephrase that: now that potty training has hit Casa Chambers, we do an exorbitant amount of laundry around here!

You know me, I like to save money... so, I'm going to make my own laundry detergent!  I was totally inspired by my bloggy friend Keri and will be using this recipe to achieve success!  A total side note, Keri and I grew up in the same home town (I actually really grew up with her little brother, but age seems to become irrelevant as you get older, right?)  Keri and Kyle have four kids under the age of four.  She handles her job as mom with such grace and tackles her job as CEO of the home with some great creativity.  I am inspired by her when it comes to laundry detergent, but I'm also inspired by her daily walk.  She has an amazing blog, so even if you aren't interested in soap, I'd urge you to check it out.  Especially this post on how to throw a birthday party for an imaginary friend.  Where else would you get tips like that?

Ahem, back to soap.  This recipe should save our family some money each month and I can't wait to try it out.  We typically do 2-3 loads a day, so savings stack up pretty quick.  Keri's recipe is HE/frontloader safe, so I'm covered.  I really like being in the kitchen and creating things, so I'm looking forward to making my own soap - but, if you don't like being in the kitchen but still want to save some money, Keri will make soap for you!  That's right people, somehow she has time to make even more soap than she needs... I told you, inspiring!

You can find all of the details for soap ordering here, or just e-mail Keri at Raising4LittleLadiesWright@Yahoo.com.

Awesome! I think I may try it too... Let me know how it goes for you if you get to it before I do. Getting to the store these days is hard for me :)

My sister in law does this and loves the results. Right now, I am using the super cheap "free and clear" detergent I scored on grocery game....super savings. But I do want to try this at some point in the future....

The soap is working great! It's handled poop and puke, so I'd say it's a go!

Thanks for this great information!

Also, I was curious about the ads on your blog. My husband wants me to try to get ads put on my blog, but I'm not sure if I should or not. I'd love to know your experience with it, if you are willing to share. You can email me privately if you'd like (my email address should be included in my info, I think. Thanks!

Melissa :)
