Might get a bit confusing...

I'm going to try to make this the least confusing I can, but I have a feeling it might get a bit confusing. Who am I kidding? I'm confused! Lets rewind a bit...

Heath and I are signed up for two programs through Gladney, one is the domestic infant adoption program. This is what you typically think of when you think adoption. Usually a younger woman gets pregnant, the baby is healthy and he/she is put up for adoption. At Gladney, most of the adoptions are semi-open, the birth mother looks through profile books and chooses a family, generally the family meets with the birth mother and a "match" is made.

The other program we are working with Gladney on is the "New Beginnings" program. This is a program for older children and sibling groups that are in CPS/FPS care. Through this program, we are matched with children or sibling groups that meet our specific criteria. The birth mothers don't have a say in this case, their rights have already been terminated.

OK, now that we've got that somewhat straight!

Heath and I got a call from our case worker in the domestic infant adoption program. She said that our book had gone out two times in the month of January. This is great! This means that two birth mothers have been looking over our profile along with other families and are working to make the decision of where to place their child. We also have a profile online that helps some of the girls who do not live in the Gladney dorm have access to our lifestyle and pictures.

So, good news all around - looks like things are at least moving in the right direction - sorry if it got a bit confusing! I tried my best!
