When it rains....it pours...

We heard from the adoption agency yesterday evening and then now have a 7-month-old baby girl that they are putting our profile out on. With this one, we should know a yes or no by the end of the week. With this situation, the good thing is that parental rights for both birthmother and birthfather have been completely terminated, so if we’re the ones chosen, all we have to do is a little bit of paperwork and then go pick her up. She’s in New Jersey and has been very well taken care of. Her birthmother has developed an extremely progressive form of MS and isn’t able to care for her, but she has been very loved and well cared for up until this point. We’re hoping to know something on this one by the end of the week.

With the baby boy, we’re still working toward that situation, but since it is a foster to adopt, we feel that the situation with the little girl is much closer to a reality and would be a much easier placement for us. Gladney will not give us a name for the girl, since parental rights have been terminated, her birth certificate now reads Baby Gladney, so we will be the ones to choose the name and everything. We’ll keep you in the loop as we hear more, but are so encouraged to see the process moving on all sides.
