Our Godchildren - who's grandfather happens to be a dentist - had the title mantra. They would try to open cans of coke with their teeth and one would quickly remind the other that, "teeth are not tools." That mantra popped into mind recently when our little Cashy tried to use his teeth as the claw end of a hammer and remove the brads from around our coffee table trunk. Now, let's look past the fact that these tiny, sharp ended brads are extreme choking hazards, and wonder why on earth my child would feel compelled to use his teeth as this type of tool. Mind you, he does have a small gap between his two front teeth which would make the removal of said brads quite possible, but really?
So, Daddy and his band of merry men pulled out their hammers - Daddy's real, all others plastic - and went to work reinforcing the brads to remove any small gaps where a Cash-tooth claw hammer might be able to get.
Ahh, the joy of children!
