The choosing of verses

I've had several people ask how Heath and I chose the verses for the kids. It was a longish process, but well worth the time and effort!

I first wrote down all of the traits that I felt the boys possessed - good and bad - along with challenges and joys I thought they might face from the listed traits. From there, I mostly used a book Heath got for his high school graduation, "God's Promises for Me." This book is a concordance of sorts, listing verses that correspond with life situations. I also used the concordance in my Bible.

From there, I had a listing of verses for each of the boys and worked with Heath to narrow them down. I really feel each one speaks to each child so specifically and I am so glad I felt God nudging me to do this!
