Parenting Magazines

To me, parenting magazines might as well be the far-fetched tabloids they sell at the end of the aisles at the grocery store. Honestly, promising me that you can stop whining and melt downs in three special steps is about the same as telling me that you saw a three-headed dog.

I will, however, albeit begrudgingly, admit to you that I still read these magazines. Sometimes in the hopes that changing one thing in my routine will create less mess in my life, but mostly to laugh a bit. I do feel bad for parents who don't have support systems to know that three special steps will not, in fact, take all of the stress out of a parenting situation, or diffuse a toddler blow-up. Imagine the stress packed on when you don't know that this isn't the norm!

So now, gotta run, we've had some issues with hitting lately and I'm sure there is a magazine somewhere in my backlog that will tell me exactly what I can do to fix the situation. Maybe even in three special steps...

This post reminds me of Special Agent Oso. I'm not sure if you've ever seen an episode, but it comes on Disney in the mornings. He does everything in "three special steps". Great blog! I'm glad I found it!
