Hair today, gone tomorrow

I've always hated my hair. It's curly and thick. Really curly and thick. Like whatever you're thinking of as curly and thick right now, times it by four and you'll be fairly close to describing my hair.

I have a very vivid memory of my third grade self finding a curler hidden in my mass of hair while already at school. Mortifying! When I was in about fifth grade, we decided to shave a circle out of the center of my scalp. It was a drastic move, resulting in a circle of missing hair about five inches in diameter. But, it worked really well, and I lived with that hole in my head for about five years.

Fortunately for me, times have changed and people like me finally have some options to help tame our manes. So after spending more than five hours in a chair, I finally went from this....

To this...

It's called a Brazilian keratin treatment, but I'm just going to call it a miracle. Seriously people, I love my hair, and I can guarantee you I've never said that before!

Thank you, thank you mom and dad for the amazing gift of now normal hair!

Shut UP! That is AMAZING!!! Brit, I love your curly hair (I've always wished mine would either curl or be straight already!), but you look awesome with it straight too!! That woman is a magic maker!

When I first saw the brochure for these Brazilian concoctions, I thought that if I knew someone who would LOVE it it would be you. Then I saw your Mom at our salon getting her hair "did" and taking a brochure and I thought, oh I hope you can try it! Now... you could be the poster girl! Looks fantastic! How long will you get out of it?

This is SO cool! You look wonderful. I remember you telling me about this....and telling me it's a little pricey, but oh so worth it. I love it! Can't wait to see it in person!

Love it! My mom has been thinking of doing this before their trip to Europe where there is no outlet for her chi straightener. I'll have to show her your pictures, Gorgeous!

Gross.

Just kidding, dear friend. You look awesome. Your wonderful poise and confidence has always trumped your hate for your hair... so much that I didn't even know you hated it really.

The joy on your face in your "after" picture makes me so happy, momma.

Love,
Unca Marc

It looks gorgeous! I have thick curly hair as well (and mine looks pretty close to yours when brushed out). I just wear it curly and live with it. It gets soooooo annoying at times though!

P.S. I found you through MckMama's forum, and I'm now a follower! Follow me back!
