Uneventful Weekend

After all of the fun and excitement of Friday night, a nice, low-key weekend was just what our family needed!

The boys are big into hiking and exploring these days, so we headed to PawPaw's farm in the country to see what we could find.

I'll go on record here as saying I'm not a country girl. Yes, I was raised in small town Texas, but never in the country. I don't own boots.

But I have to admit that wide open spaces, bugs and snakes are growing on me. The discovery of these things lights up my children's faces, and that brings me so much joy.

Mooing at cows brings Cash much joy... Something I didn't know until this weekend. I didn't think his mooing brought joy to the cows, but he said it did. "Mommy look! They SO happy I talkin' to them!"

Really, who can argue with that? Or ignore this smile?

And who knew that jumping on hay bales was so much more fun than going to the park?

So...

Much more...

Fun!

Nope, I'm not from the country, but I might soon be a convert.

But, I think I'll stick to not owning cowboy boots... For some reason I just don't think I could pull them off!

You could definitely pull off some cowboy boots. There are some pretty cute ones out there! :) Personally, I'm more of a hiking boot type girl. Looks like a great time. What a blessing to have a farm to visit for the weekend! Lots to learn out there.

I'm a hiking boot girl myself. Heck, I can go hiking in my backyard. We live surrounded by trees, mountains and water. I couldn't imagine these things not in my life. Beach exploring is my favorite activity with kids. And the best part is it's a 5 minute drive.

I consider myself somewhat of a country girl even though I was born and raised in the city. I guess I'm a transplant. BUT - I don't own boots either. I had to laugh when I read your comment about boots. When we finally get out to the country, I guess I'll probably need kind of boot!! :-) I don't think I could pull of cowboy boots either. Hmmmm.

I am small town TX too without boots. I am in north TX near Denton, Decatur, & Gainesville. What part of TX are/were you in?
