Buying for Brother

As a special treat for their bloggers, BlogHer teamed up with HomeGoods* and provided $25 gift cards for the holidays. Our mission was to find a gift for someone on our list.

I really wanted to include the boys in the gift giving this year, so I found this the perfect opportunity! I'd been to HomeGoods before to purchase some table linens, and another time for a new baking dish, so I knew what they had. I know their name doesn't imply toys, but I promise you they have the best selection of non-electronic toys (Melissa & Doug, Infantino, etc.) I've seen outside of a specialty shop.

Cash's favorite book lately has been My First Truck Book. He's memorized each type of machinery, so when Stone spied a logging truck we knew we'd found our gift! (The exact truck is listed on Amazon for $43.31, the list price at HomeGoods was $24.99, making it perfect for our $25 gift card budget)

It was so sweet to watch as the boys looked through the toys to find something for their brother. This isn't something Stone would like personally, so I knew he fully grasped the idea that he was purchasing for someone else.

Holden didn't grasp the concept as well... He wanted the toy now!

HomeGoods is very clean and offers a great selection. It's a partner store to TJ Maxx and Marshalls, but it's a totally different shopping experience. I'm sure you could stock up on lots of gifts for the holidays!

If you're shopping for me, feel free to pick up a few of these:

For some reason colored cookware makes me very happy!

*I was not compensated for this post, nor was I required to write it in exchange of the gift card. I am a BlogHer affiliate and received this promotion through their network.

Stone is such a sweet brother! I love it! I've never been in that store because I assumed it was all just home decor and I just don't have the budget for that, so I kept away. But cooking dishes?? Toys?? Now I just have to go! And a discount store like TJ Maxx/Marshalls? Even better!
